Teaching Pedagogy

The Radiant Life College staff are committed to providing quality classroom teaching that has a profound influence on student teaching and learning. Our pedagogy is supported through the vision that every child has an equal opportunity to learn and learn to a high level. This is carried out through our three school values of respect, responsibility and safety.

At Radiant Life College, we believe in setting high expectations for our students and providing an endless amount of academic and emotional support. We believe in providing the highest level of explicit teaching and differentiating the learning for children of all needs. This belief is demonstrated through developing a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to aim high in all areas including academics and behaviour

Our school pedagogy aims to enhance student wellbeing through implementing the Australian Curriculum as specified by the P-12 curriculum, assessment and reporting framework: as well as embedding the personal and social capabilities, information communication and technology, critical and creative thinking, ethical behaviour and intercultural understanding. Our teaching and learning focuses on the Cross Curricula Priorities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, Australia’s engagement with Asia and Sustainability.

Our teaching staff will carry out this teaching pedagogy by;

• Building relationships with students and their families

• Targeting teaching through individualized student learning

• Demonstrating respect for students

• Building on the student’s strengths

• Use children’s preferred learning styles

We are now using a new program called Quizdom which is used to identify the learning strengths of each child. This is a complete F-10 literacy and numeracy learning and assessment tool for teachers and schools.
